Real Wedding Inspiration: Mermaid Inspiration in the Ballroom

Last Saturday, the Diamond Mills balcony was home to a stunning outdoor ceremony followed by a reception in the Ballroom. The weather was perfect and the blue sky matched perfectly with the sea greens and blues on the tables inside. The mermaid-inspired color-scheme went beautifully with the ceremony overlooking our famous waterfall.

Last Friday, Diamond Mills hosted an indoor ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour and reception in the main Ballroom. The bride, her train carried by her bridesmaids, made a grand entrance from the top of our staircase. Here’s a peek at the way her gorgeous reception looked before guests arrived!

Featured Dish of the Week: Sablefish

Sablefish, also known as black cod or butterfish, is delicate, flaky, and rich in flavor. A decadent dish, the sable is pan seared, caramelizing the fish’s buttery flavor and adding a deliciously crispy texture. The nutty, savory flavor of sunchoke puree adds interest and contrasts pleasantly with the spongy texture of chanterelles mushrooms. Richly aromatic, hazelnuts set off the dish – one bite is an explosion of flavor, pleasantly crunchy, briny and a little sweet. A side of black cabbage, commonly known as bok choy, with its mildly bitter flavor, keeps the dish from becoming overwhelmingly saccharine.

This Saturday, the Tavern at Diamond Mills was home to a wedding on the patio overlooking the waterfall, followed by a simple and elegant reception in the Tavern’s mezzanine. We took a peek before the bridal party arrived. Against the backdrop of the Tavern, this wedding really glowed!
